When to go

In Austria, tourists come mainly from May through September.  The warmest weather is in July and August which is also when the schools close and there are most crowds.  Coming in the spring or autumn can be easier to book accommadation.   Notes that in the summer the state opera and the Boys Choir cease performances.

The skiing season begins in December and lasts until late March.  The best conditions are found in mid-January, the coldest time of the year.
